The physical treatment method is adopted for the primary treatment, that is, using grids, screens, sand settling tanks, sedimentation tanks, oil separators and other structures to remove the suspended solids and floating oil in the wastewater, and initially adjust the pH value to reduce the degree of corrosion of the wastewater. After primary treatment, the wastewater generally fails to meet the discharge standard (BOD removal rate is only 25%~40%), so it is usually the pretreatment stage to reduce the load of subsequent treatment procedures and improve the treatment effect.
